Prosper is a North East based procurement consultancy, with a team of experienced experts who operate within the public sector. We were formed nearly ten years ago, and are now seen as the procurement partner of choice for several social landlords in the region.

How it All Began

When the Government introduced significant funding for Social Landlords to improve the quality of their housing stock through the Decent Homes programme, the Homes and Communities Agencies provided support by setting up framework procurement consortia with the idea that greater efficiencies would be created through consolidated purchasing.

NE Procurement was set up by its founding partners Your Homes Newcastle, Coast & Country Housing; Erimus Housing, Housing Hartlepool and Tees Valley Housing (all now part of the Thirteen Group), South Tyneside Homes, Derwentside Homes (now part of Karbon Homes), Blyth Valley Housing, Three Rivers Housing and Dale & Valley Housing (now part of County Durham Housing Group).

Iain Sim appointed as Chair of the Board of NE Procurement.

Present day

We have evolved so much since our inception in 2008, as has the housing sector we operate in, so it’s time for a change…

Our operating model has been re-engineered to provide a customer centric, people-led approach allowing us to create effective solutions aimed at optimising returns for Members while providing exceptional delivery experiences for their customers.

Our core values have been re-energised to reflect who we now are and as a result of this we have changed our name to Prosper – if we work collaboratively together everyone involved in our process will Prosper.

Since the Prosper Social Value Fund was set up in 2008, it has provided in excess of £1.4m of project funding supporting initiatives and programmes in the communities of our Member organisations, creating opportunities across the North East of England.
