Prosper appoints two experienced housing professionals to key strategic roles

Prosper has appointed two experienced housing professionals to provide key strategic advice to the organisation’s Board.

Andrea Malcolm has joined the Audit Committee and will sit on the Board as an Executive Director representing the Audit Committee, while Sara Wetherill has also joined the organisation as a member of the Audit Committee.

In her current role, Andrea is Deputy Chief Executive of Bernicia – one of the North East’s largest social landlords, which owns and manages over 14,000 homes from Redcar & Cleveland to Berwick-upon-Tweed.

She has held senior positions within the housing sector, focussing primarily on housing management, HR and organisational development and has developed and delivered several transformational programmes, contributing significantly to the success of Bernicia.

Sara Wetherill also joins Prosper’s Audit Committee and brings with her a wealth of experience and knowledge working as Head of Procurement at Thirteen Group – leading the procurement function there for seven and a half years. Sara is also the Learning and Development Lead at National Housing Procurement Association – a membership organisation to transform UK housing procurement through collaboration, innovation, and sustainability; delivering high-quality, affordable homes that enrich communities and lives.

Ian Johnson, Chair of the Board at Prosper, said: “I’d like to welcome both Andrea and Sara to Prosper. They each bring with them extensive experience, knowledge and the leadership qualities that will hugely benefit the organisation.

Sara said: “With over 25 years of procurement experience spanning both the private and public sectors, and as a founding member of the National Housing Procurement Association, I am committed to bringing a depth of expertise and a balanced perspective. My involvement will provide the Audit Committee with valuable local knowledge and strategic national insights.”

The Audit Committee meet four times per year and are responsible for internal control and risk assessment, internal audit and external audit.
